“YES, YOU CAN FIT THAT IN YOUR SMALL KITCHEN.”

Do you think you don’t have room for certain features in your new kitchen design?  Nothing is impossible!  There are some great options to allow you to include all your wants into your small space.  Here are a few you may like to consider:

SLIDE OUT WORK SURFACE

Pull out benchtops are a popular feature in many small kitchens.  These are usually set up with a runner system fitted below the existing work surface.  Similar to a draw, with a handle to pull it out easily.

INCLUDE A BREAKFAST BAR

If you have a cabinet being used as maybe a divider to another room, forgo one of the cabinets and use this area as a breakfast bar.  A couple of backless stools will tuck neatly underneath.  Very handy space for your morning coffee and toast, or having a glass of wine while the cook is preparing dinner.

CONSIDER A CORNER SINK

If you use the space in the corner of the kitchen for your sink – the angled area will allow you to fit a double sink and will free up more bench space for other things.  Generally, back of the cupboard space in the corner is wasted so a good place to have the sink water pipes etc.

SHELVES AND CABINETS TO CEILING

Utilise the full height of your room.  Make use of all wall space if you need or want lots of storage.  Use open shelving on the walls that won’t have cabinets.  These can be thin but still store lots of bits and pieces or display pieces.

MICROWAVE

Include a space amongst the cabinets to place your microwave to save cluttering up limited bench space.
