If you have to spend time in this room you deserve to have a little luxury. It may be ‘just the laundry’ but there can be more to a laundry than dirty washing and cleaning products. Here are a few ideas to maybe make you want to spend time in the laundry and make it a beautiful room:
Use a feature tile for your splashback or floor, or both. Look for a hardwearing and a little daring tile rather than just plain white.
You have never considered wallpaper for your laundry – have you? A patterned wallpaper in a laundry can make the space feel luxurious and inviting. Choose a wallpaper than can stand up to humidity and moisture for your laundry space. Vinyl wallpaper is easy to clean and is non-absorbent so won’t be damaged by water.
Add some greenery to the laundry. The rubber plant (Ficus elastica) and Snake plant aka Mother In Law’s Tongue are considered good choices as they are low maintenance and good for eliminating toxic compounds from the air.
HIDE THE IRONING BOARD
Consider a concealed ironing board that can pack away when not in use, but easily accessible when needed.
GLASS JARS FOR DECORATION
Add a couple of glass jars filled with washing powder. This will give your laundry a chic and polished look.
